A Simple & Silly Survey

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Do you follow me on social media? If so, you may have seen some pictures. If you don't, let's connect!

I found this A-Z survey on Peanut Butter Fingers (she's adorable, and pregnant with her first child!), and I really enjoyed reading her responses. I thought it was so fun, I decided to share my answers as well!

An Update

Hi, and happy Monday!

I know it's been nothing but crickets over here lately, so thanks for sticking around. After we got back from our AMAZING two week vacation (posts are going to come, I promise), we both jumped head first into work. My first week back was insanely busy! Also, I'm excited to share that I have gotten a promotion! Previously I was the marketing coordinator, and am now the events strategist! :)

On Friday, I was interviewed by Mutual of Omaha for my "Aha Moment." I was nervous, as I'd never done anything before on camera, and had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised - it was a blast! They made it so easy on me, and I really enjoyed myself. I'll definitely share when it's edited into its neat little 30 second clip!

This weekend was spent catching up on all things housework. Dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, changing sheets...you name it, I did it. Whew! It was a lot of work, but I do love starting the week with a clean house. Piper, not so much. She's doing everything in her power to make sure it gets messy again ;)

ALSO, YDD has a new Lemon Drop Sponsor - please say hello to Rachel from RachelNordgren.com! Rachel and I first connected on Twitter - her former blog name included...get this...her yellow door! Small world, huh? Ever since, I've enjoyed getting to know her through her blog and now at her new website. She's a wonderful writer, and I'm excited to feature her this month! Be on the lookout soon for her Q&A so you can get to know her a little better.
I've missed touching base with y'all - thanks again for your patience!

Until next time - -

Monday Musings: Four

These are always fun for me to read, but I don't often participate! Since I was tagged by the lovely and awesome Christine from The So-Called Homemaker, it gives me a great excuse to jump in. I hope you enjoy getting to know a bit more about me :)

Four Names people call me:
:: Morgs - mostly by my immediate family
:: Momo - extended family
:: Squirt - by my daddy-o
:: Gorgeous, most amazing, perfect woman ever - Spencer (ok, maybe I made that one up)
Four jobs I’ve had:
:: Marketing Coordinator for a law firm - current position
:: YMCA After School Program leader - college
:: Men's Basketball tutor - college
:: Restaurant hostess - high school
Four movies I would / have watched more than once:
:: Pride and Prejudice – I am with Amanda AND Christine on this choice. Never gets old!
:: Gone With the Wind - because the book is so incredible, and the movie has such dreamy movie stars
:: Twilight - all of them. Don't judge!!
:: Elf - Will Ferrell in an elf costume eating cotton balls? All day, every day.
Four Books I would recommend:
:: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
:: Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. It's just the best of all time, basically.
:: The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough
:: Phoenix Island by John Dixon. John is my cousin, and the book is out of my typical genre. But I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I got into it and then I could not put it down! Also, the book was adapted into a CBS series called "Intelligence," which sadly was cancelled after the first season.
Four Places I’ve Lived:
:: North Augusta, SC
:: Columbia, SC
:: Lexington, SC
:: New York City (for a 3 month internship)
Four Places I’ve Visited:
:: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
:: Las Vegas, NV
:: Cancun, Mexico
:: Los Angeles, CA
Four Places I’d Rather Be Right Now:
:: At a spa
:: At home - because ahhhh
:: Europe (10 days!!!)
:: The beach (Hilton Head, probably)
Four Favorite Foods:
:: Chocolate covered strawberries
:: Rare filet mignon
:: Cheese
:: Red wine (is that a food?)
Four TV Shows I Watch:
:: 19 Kids and Counting
:: Married at First Sight
:: Downton Abbey - not caught up, but the costumes, the story line...love!
:: Jeopardy - because I love when I get one right :)
Four things I’m Looking Forward to This Year (2015):
:: Europe!
:: Fixing up our back yard
:: I really hope to re-do our master bedroom!
:: Visiting with family <3
Four Things I Say All The Time:
:: Stoooop
:: Piper, no ma'am!
:: Babe, can you help me?
:: I'm hungry.
Four People I’m Tagging:
:: Elizabeth

:: Cassie
:: Madison
:: Ashley
Can't wait to read your responses!

Until next time - -

Monday Musings

I'm not sure how this happened, but Monday crept up again. I overslept, skipped my coffee, and rushed to get ready. I didn't get a post written and scheduled, thus the late posting today. Better late then never?

Struggling to really complete full sentences, today's post is a ramble of random thoughts in my head that I'm calling "Monday Musings," because it sounds better than "Random Thoughts on a Day I Over-Slept From a Brain That Thinks Too Much."

If you've ever wanted a peek into my brain (I'm sure you haven't), here we go.

  • I could really use a cup of coffee right now, but I am trying to slowly cut out cream and sugar when I drink it. That makes it not quite as tasty. But I might do it anyway for the caffeine...
  • I have a doctors appointment today. Nothing big, just routine. But it's a doctors appointment. Meh.
  • Poor Piper, all alone at home. I wonder if she found the treat I hid in her crate this morning. I wonder what she's doing. Probably sleeping. She slept most of the weekend, even when I wanted to play. Puppies sleep a lot...
  • One reason I don't despise Mondays, at least this time of year, is because The Bachelor comes on. I'm hosting tonight, and Casey will come over for dinner. I need to pick up a few ingredients, but I'm planning to make homemade burgers and sweet potato fries. Because, yummy.
  • Can you believe that Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday? I'm so glad. I hate to lose an hour of sleep, but gladly welcome longer days and more sunshine. Oh, and warmer weather. And - the first day of Spring is in 18 days!
  • Speaking of warmer weather, the high on Wednesday is supposed to be in the 70s! Hallelujah!
  • I get to see my sisters and mom this weekend. We're meeting in Atlanta for some shopping and girl time. It's also my oldest sister's birthday next week, so I get to tell her "Happy Birthday" in person. Piper will be joining me, and I hope our niece Avia will as well. It's a "girl's weekend," after all, and they are girls...so it's only fair to include them.
  • I had a dream last night that we went on a family cruise somewhere near India. I'm not sure where. But there were friends from high school there, and we were trying to get into sororities (??), and guess who I saw. My Aunt Linda. She was sitting beside my Aunt Kathy, and looked wonderful. Healthy, happy, smiling...I went over and hugged both of them at the same time, and My Aunt Kathy and I were both crying, but Aunt Linda was smiling. I think that's a sign, don't you? It was great to see her looking so healthy.
  • I have a lot on my plate right now, personally and professionally. Not bad, just a lot. My brain feels a bit like mush. I need to get a good list going and get to work. And, something I'm not great at, prioritize things. I'm a "yes" person and a people pleaser, so I tend to prioritize everything at the same level of importance. #fail
  • Spencer is traveling internationally this week for work, which is fun for him but I hate not being able to talk to him whenever I want. Piper and I can't wait until he comes home! Why can't there be free Wi-Fi worldwide?
  • I did a lot of cleaning this weekend, which was awesome. I love being in my house when it's really clean. It's much more relaxing. If only it would stay that way...

I'm cutting myself off there. One thought leads to another, so this could go on all day. I'll spare you.

What Monday Musings do you have to share? Obviously, they can be totally random. I'd love to see what's going on in your head - hopefully it will make me feel less crazy. ;)

Until next time - -
