Get Organized in Less Than One Month (+ a Printable!)

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a great week, and that you have something fun planned for the weekend. Spencer and I will be in New Jersey celebrating the wedding of two great friends. Yay!

This week, I ran across an article from PopSugar that lists 116 items to throw away (or donate) in your home. If you're anything like me, a list of 116 items seems pretty daunting! Have no fear. I am sharing the list with you (original article here) and also suggesting a way to tackle it.

Go through the list 5 at a time. That's it! Just 5 at a time. This will take you less than a month to complete, and I promise you will feel so much relief by getting rid of things that are collecting dust and are cluttering your life.

In fact, you don't even have to go in order! A few of these will take longer than others (for example, going through your closet), so don't overwhelm yourself by pairing that with anything else. Just do that one thing alone. Skip around and team up 5 small tasks together.

Here is a sample day 1:

  1. Old schoolbooks you'll never use again
  2. Purses you never use
  3. Unused vases
  4. Frayed towels
  5. Hair elastics that have lost stretchiness

How long would that take? 15 minutes? 20?

Here is a free printable of the entire list - print it out, post it where it's easily visible, and cross things off as you complete them. Good luck!
