But oh, do we have plans! My in-laws are big fans, and membership holders, of the Biltmore Estate. Heard of it? Yeah, I thought so. It's nice being close enough for a day trip, but on the other hand it also gives us these grand ideas that I'm not positive our husbands appreciate. But just wait until they sit down for this Thanksgiving meal!
Kay gifted me a copy of the "Biltmore: Our Table to Yours, Chef's Selection Cookbook" last year, and I've been browsing the recipes trying to decide where on earth to start. If you want amazing recipes with drool-worthy pictures, do yourself a favor and get this cookbook!
Oh, and check this part out. It's basically a cheat sheet in the cookbook for a real Vanderbilt family Thanksgiving meal!
In addition to leafing through the cookbook, I've been browsing on Pinterest, and have found some great inspiration photos for both decor and recipes. Here is only a small handful of what I've pinned, so be sure to go follow me for more amazing inspiration pictures!

So, basically, we are going to be such fancy pants! ;)
I'd also love to hear your ideas on our Biltmore Thanksgiving, as well as your favorite traditions with your family (a recipe? a fun game? a fun story that is always told?). Share in the comments!
Until next time - -
I'm ready! At the Biltmore they served 7 courses!!! I think we can pull this off! It's the dress code I'm concerned about:) Love you, Kay
ReplyDeleteI can definitely help make (and eat!) 7 courses - not a problem! We will have to pick out some really lovely "Vanderbilt" attire ;) Love you!
DeleteAgain. Jealous.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your Vanderbilt attire?
Well, because doubt our fellas want to get too dolled up, I'm going to wear the blouse with gold beading I got from you, jeggings, boots, and a bracelet stack from Beads on a Wire. That's the plan anyway...
